He is seriously my pride and joy. My world. I still can't believe he's mine.
I love when he says "mommy I carry you" (when he wants to be held).
And "I lub you mommy". This kid melts my heart.
He is ridiculously smart. He has this app on the iPad that is 2 years ahead of him, and he has it mastered and gets bored easily with it. It amazes me.
He knows something new every single day.
He can count to 12.
He knows some colors and some shapes.
He knows what letters are.
He knows animals and the sounds they make.
He knows how to use the iPad better than even I do. He knows exactly where each app is. He loves YouTube videos--which is where he has learned most of what he knows.
I am his biggest fan. I'm so incredibly proud of him and I love him more than words.
I am amazed at how well he can speak. He speaks in full sentences and can tell me what he wants.
He always says "please" "thank you" and "you're welcome". He's very polite.
Life with this kid is not all sunshine and rainbows. He is 3 after all-- he screams and yells and cries. He's spoiled and always gets what he wants (we are working on that). Not to mention, he bites and hits and kicks...
But I try, every single day, to spend time talking to him. Ask him about his day. Let him sing to me or tell me stories. I tell him how much I love him and how proud I am of him. I kiss him and hold him. When he gets hurt, I comfort him and kiss it better. I try to be the best mom I can be. Laugh with him. Play with him.
Some of D's favorite things and sayings::
He loves music. He loves to dance and sing and be crazy. We are always having dance parties. It's the best :)
He kinda has a potty mouth. He's always telling the dogs to shut up (and other people-- he gets in trouble for that).
One thing I'm not proud of, but he says dammit a lot. We are working on kicking that word out...
His favorite food is spaghetti.
He still loves broccoli. He's been liking carrots and celery lately too. He's a candy boy. (Not too unlike his mommy lol). He likes chips and cookies -- unless they have frosting. It's really weird. But he likes frosting by itself.
He loves to clean. Especially vacuuming and scrubbing the toilet. It's super strange. He will go around with a spray bottle and "keen" for mommy.
He loves to bathe and shower. Some days he would be content in the tub all day long.
We are working on potty training. Some days he is totally into it. Other days not so much. He knows how to pee standing and sitting. But he will have me put a diaper on him when he has to poop. So he knows when. Now we just have to work on location. The last couple days, he's been telling me as soon as he poops or pees. He wants changed right away. Making progress!
He loves cars and trucks and planes.
He loves all things monsters. He's obsessed with sully and mike.
He loves to tell stories. Most the time you can't tell what he's saying, but he really gets into it and uses his hands.
He likes to tell on people. It's pretty hilarious.
He is a mamas boy.
But he loves his daddy lots too. Daddy is his hero.
He still doesn't like clothes much. But he will stay dressed for longer periods of times now. Especially if it's Denver or cars or monsters. Etc. But if his clothes get wet, that's it. He's done. Clothes off.
He's recently obsessed with "shooting". He got a couple nerf guns for his birthday and he loves them.
He's loved learning about holidays. He knows about Halloween and thanksgiving and Christmas and birthday. I'm still not sure he completely understands. But he can point things out and name them and recognize what holiday they go to. He keeps singing random songs about Christmas. And he sings happy birthday. Since his party on Saturday he has figured out that it's his birthday and he gets cake and presents. I keep telling him his birthday is on Christmas. He can tell us he will be 3.
He finally recognizes himself as a baby.
When we ask him if he's our baby he says "no I dummund"
He tells everyone he loves them. He is the sweetest.
I am amazed at his knowledge. He doesn't miss much. And he doesn't forget anything.
He is changing every day and he definitely isn't a baby anymore. He's a little man with a big personality!
Mommy and daddy love you so much little man!
